The Freestyle mode lets the player play the game without any of the restraints of the Straight Edge mode and players can even start as owners of a company. TEW comes preset with a roster of pre-made wrestlers, although players can add more.

The game also allows players to set up advanced bookings, create storylines, be a friend or foe to other promotional companies among other things. The game also features a momentum meter for each wrestler which tracks a wrestlers popularity. Players have to take into account a wrestlers momentum when booking a card to make sure the fans will be interested in the matchups.
